Hearing Test

What is a Hearing Test?

A hearing test is a straightforward process designed to assess your hearing health. The evaluation begins with a brief discussion with a hearing specialist, who may ask questions such as:

  • In what situations have you noticed difficulty hearing?

  • Have you been exposed to loud noises at work or in other settings?

The actual test is conducted in a soundproof booth, where sounds at varying frequencies (125 to 8,000 Hertz) are played through insert headphones. These sounds, ranging from very low to very high pitches, are tested in each ear individually, starting at an easily audible level and gradually varying in volume.

You’ll be asked to press a button each time you hear a sound. Additionally, a bone conduction test using vibrations on the skull may be performed to check for potential middle ear damage.

The results of the test are plotted on an audiogram, which shows your hearing thresholds in decibels across various frequencies. A Hearing Instrument Specialist will analyze the audiogram to identify any deviations from normal hearing and discuss personalized solutions to improve your hearing.

Personalized Solutions and Peace of Mind

After your hearing test, our specialists will explain the results in detail and recommend hearing aids or styles that suit your hearing loss and lifestyle. At Evear Hearing Clinic, we offer a 30-day free trial with all our top hearing aids, allowing you ample time to make an informed decision about your hearing health.

Have You Noticed Changes in Your Hearing?

Hearing loss can become evident in various ways, such as:

  • Missing conversations in noisy settings like restaurants.

  • Turning up the TV volume to hear clearly.

  • Facing safety concerns, such as not hearing cars or alarms.

If these scenarios sound familiar, it may be time to evaluate your hearing. Just CALL: 647 812 5393

Self-Evaluation Checklist

Answer the following questions with "Yes" or "No":

  1. Are speech and sounds loud enough but unclear?

  2. Do others seem to mumble or speak unintelligibly?

  3. Is it difficult to follow group conversations?

  4. Do you struggle more in noisy environments, like restaurants or pubs?

  5. Are you frequently asked to turn the TV down?

  6. Do you avoid events or celebrations due to difficulty hearing?

If you answered "Yes" to two or more questions, we recommend scheduling a hearing test with a specialist.

Take Action Today

Hearing loss can lead to frustration, social withdrawal, reduced confidence, and even challenges in the workplace. Over time, untreated hearing loss deprives the brain of sound stimulation, making it harder to process sounds and adapt later.

Regular hearing tests are just as important as vision screenings. It’s recommended to have your hearing evaluated every three years after age 50. A hearing test can provide clarity on your hearing health, and our specialists at Evear Hearing Clinic are here to guide you every step of the way.

Take the first step toward better hearing today and walk out of our clinic with confidence in your decision.
